EDER 603.02 - Quantitative Research Methods

Tom Gougeon P.H.D.

Course Description:
This course provides for an examination of quantitative research theory and methods. Practical application will be central to the course against the backdrop of theoretical frameworks. Use of the Statpak statistical package specifically designed for personal computers will enable students to plan future research independent of mainframe computer access.

Course Objectives:
1. To examine practical implications of problems associated with quantitative research.
2. To determine the theoretical basis and the current knowledge base of specific aspects of these problems.
3. To provide opportunities to complete specific tasks which are practical.

Assignments:
Assignments will be submitted by attachment or direct text through FirstClass. They are due at the end of the week in which they are scheduled on the course calendar. They are to be placed on FirstClass so we can all read them, compare work with each other, and gain a sense of standard in the work being accomplished in the class. Work is evaluated via private email messages.
