Web Sites with Effective Screen Designs

K Kim's U of Calgary Master of Education Portfolio - this is my personal portfolio used to highlight some of my work in the MED program at U of Calgary - it comes with a clean looking interface and lots of white spaces

K. Schoepp's U of Calgary Master of Education Portfolio - Kevin's layout is impressive - the ESL education content is also interesting

K. Kim's Information Technology Courses - this is the site that I use to support my teaching - it was built before I had any knowledge in instructional design - some parts need refinement - overall, though, I am confident it works for most of the students

B-Man Artworks - this Danish web designer uses inline frames to get the "look" - he incorporates .asp technology to manage his pages

Novembre - this artist / web designer transforms his print art work digitally - most impressive use of Flash technology

Rodrigo Designz - this web designer also incorporates flash into his work - when you come to his site music plays

2 Advanced Studios - this site far surpasses any Flash sites I have ever seen

Lambrick Park Secondary - for a school site created and maintained by students, it's quite good - school is situated in Victoria, BC

Distance Education Web Sites

Distance Educator - a site for teachers and students in online learning - there are many resources here for use in class

Cue Horizon - a provincial organization in BC that focuses on computer use in education - their conferences are fantastic

Kathy Schrock's Educator Site - one of the first educator online that promotes the use of computer technology - great resource for teachers at all levels

Instructional Technology Forum - similar to our online discussion forums - the forums are usually moderated by specialists in the field

BC Technology - this site used to have information of the future of technology in education - since the demise of the Technology Institute of BC

Rocky View Virtual School - a school in the Rockyview District of Alberta that is in the leading edge of virtual school - students mush log in at a specified time in the morning for attendance

Greater Vancouver Distance Education - the largest distance education provider in BC - uses mostly WEB-CT technology to distribute their lessons

MIT - Massachusetts Institute of Technology - the name says it all, but as a school that promotes equal access to education - they provide most courses free online - so if you have Internet access ad a computer, you too can be educated, but without the MIT recognition

Microsoft Interactive Training - one of MIT's course in Microsoft Office series - you can create a user name and log on - the lessons are interactive - there are preview and end of series quizzes

University of Athabasca - all courses for the degree are delivered via a variety of distance education media, including the Internet - there are no face-to-face requirements for completion of the degree

Lethbridge University - combination of face-to-face and distance delivery methods

Memorial University - it is intended that the program be offered primarily as a part-time program through distance delivered courses

University of Toronto - it is possible to obtain a complete MED in Curriculum via distance education

St.Francis Xavier - it is a self directed, distance learning program - the program begins with 3 week mandatory orientation
